About The Walk ★
The Friends of the Poor Walk is an annual tradition hosted by the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Aloysius Church in Leonardtown Maryland, and Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville Maryland, bringing neighbors together on foot through the streets of historic Leonardtown for one purpose: community care.
"A supportive experience that turns caring into community."
Every dollar raised helps fund community growth and sustainment for those most in need right here in St. Mary's County. It's a non-competitive, all-ages walk — strollers, dogs on leashes, and walking shoes of every speed are all welcome. Stick around after the finish line for a complimentary brunch featuring goodies from local bakeries and vendors.
